Put them in the freezer for 1 hour, then cover them in melted chocolate and put them back in the freezer fro another 2-3 hours. I also suggest using dark chocolate to add antioxidants to this yummy snack.

Pros and Cons about ZombiesRun 5K

I started off really loving this app!  And don’t get me wrong…I did very much enjoy it.  I look forward to continuing with the story line and feel some sort of attachment to the main characters.

Last summer, I did the free C25K app on my iPhone, which is also an 8 week program to get you from couch potato to running a 5K in just 8 weeks.  I was expecting the Zombies 5K one to be very very similar.

It started off extremely similar, but now that I’ve finished week 6, there have been a lot of differences in approach.

On the downside-I really do not like how LONG each workout can be.  The past 2-3 weeks worth of workouts, each one is 50ish minutes long.  Sometimes it’s not that bad and goes by quickly enough…but other times when I just want to squeeze in my run before work, or before dinner or something…and it’s really unmotivating to get up and run knowing I won’t be home for an hour.  Plus, we’ve had a lot of hot/humid days, so being outside that long running has taken a toll on my body at times.  In comparison, the regular C25K program, each workout was around 30-35 minutes.  I guess I miss that.

It also feels like I’m not being challenged quite as much with the Zombies program.  They have a lot of “free form runs” which can give you the distance you’re looking for-but it’s up to you when to run or walk so I wonder sometimes if I’m really pushing myself as far as I could be.  In the regular C25K program it was specifically telling me “run for 10 minutes, now walk for 2 minutes” or whatever the case was.  It was very mentally motivating because I didn’t want to go against what the voice said!  Hahaha, silly.

Also, I wish there were more zombie encounters.  It’s rare that one is even spotted =/

However, on the positive, 50 minutes of exercise is great, and better than the 30 minutes I used to do I suppose.  I like how Zombies incorporates squats and heel lifts and other sort of toning/strength training drills.

I love love the storyline and finding out more each run.  It feels like I’m watcing a movie or reading a book, haha.

I definitely plan to continue on to the end with this app, I’m almost there!  And I would highly recommend it to others!  Just a few things I would like to change if I could :)
